Terror – Enemy of the People

In Franklin D. Roosevelt’s first inaugural address as President of the United States in 1933, he famously proclaimed the ‘only thing we have to fear is fear itself.’ Stated in the depths of the Great Depression, the United States would soon undergo a great transformation that increased the role of the Federal Government in the economic decisions of all Americans, and eventually led to the foundation of the globalized American Empire and the military industrial complex during World War II. After the end of the Cold War, America re-entered center-stage yet again with the War on Terror with the downing of the Pentagon and the Twin Towers in New York in 2001. And as the world enters yet another pivotal moment in 2020 with the Corona virus, fear once again places a vital role in cementing the psychology of the people the desire for yet another expansion of central authority for the always elusive promise of more security.
